释义	新製造方式 In patent law, an invention or alleged invention which is new and inventive within the meaning of the Patents Ordinance (Cap 514) s 94. The term implies a quality of inventiveness which is necessary for a proper subject for letters patent under Patents Ordinance (Cap 514). Where it is apparent on the face of a patent specification that this quality of either newness or inventiveness is absent, it is not necessary to consider whether, when compared with the state of the art as it existed before the priority date of a claim defining the invention, the invention is novel or involves an inventive step. These matters are distinct, if not different, criteria for a patentable invention: Patents Ordinance (Cap 514) ss 93, 96, 97.
