单词 Verbal contract
1. Formerly, a contract expressed by the parties in words, whether oral or written, as opposed to one made wordlessly but whose terms are words supplied by the law. 2. The term is increasingly used to mean a contract made entirely by spoken, not written, words. ‘Verbal contract’ is not a technical term. Despite modern tendency to treat ‘verbal’ and ‘oral’ as synonyms, until the older sense of ‘verbal’ dies out ‘oral contract’ is preferable for this meaning. See also Contract.
