释义 | 法庭圍欄 1.A notional partition across a court of justice separating the bench from counsel. Counsel sit at the bar table, which is also the place where they stand in court to speak for their clients; hence the term barristers. 2. The collective name and body of barristers. For instance, barristers follow their own codes of conduct and etiquette. 3. To end or prevent any further legal action from continuing. For example, if a claim is outside the limitation of time, the law of limitation will operate as a bar to such claim from being instituted. 4. Any place exclusively or mainly used for the sale and consumption of intoxicating liquor: Dutiable Commodities (Liquor) Regulations (Cap 109B) reg 2. It includes the counter at which the sales and supply of liquor take place, or a counter over which drink is served or the room containing that counter: Carter v Bradbeer [1975] 3 All ER 158 (HL).
