| 释义 | 外地離婚及合法分居判令 Divorces and legal separations which have been obtained by means of judicial or other proceedings in any country outside Hong Kong, and are effective under the law of that country: Matrimonial Causes Ordinance (Cap 179) s 55. The validity of an overseas divorce or legal separation will be recognised if, at the date of the institution of the proceedings in the country in which it was obtained either spouse was habitually resident in that country; or either spouse was a national of that country: s 56(1).
