释义	永久性居民 A person who has the right of abode in Hong Kong: Immigration Ordinance (Cap 115) s 2A(1). In the context of immigration control, this includes the right to land in Hong Kong, the right to be free of any condition of stay in Hong Kong, and the right not to be deported and removed from Hong Kong: s 2A(1). The Basic Law sets out six categories of persons who are permanent residents of the Hong Kong SAR. They are: (1) Chinese citizens born in Hong Kong before or after the establishment of the Hong Kong SAR; (2) Chinese citizens who have ordinarily resided in Hong Kong for a continuous period of not less than seven years before or after the establishment of the Hong Kong SAR; (3) persons of Chinese nationality born outside Hong Kong of those residents listed in categories (1) and (2) above; (4) persons not of Chinese nationality who have entered Hong Kong with valid travel documents, have ordinarily resided in Hong Kong for a continuous period of not less than seven years and have taken Hong Kong as their place of permanent residence before or after the establishment of the Hong Kong SAR; (5) persons under 21 years of age born in Hong Kong of those residents listed in category (4) above before or after the establishment of the Hong Kong SAR; (6) persons other than those residents listed in categories (1) to (5) above, who, before the establishment of the Hong Kong SAR, had the right of abode in Hong Kong only: Basic Law art 24; Immigration Ordinance (Cap 115) sch 1.
