释义 | 碰撞 In marine insurance, when used alone, without other words, it means two navigable things coming into contact: Chandler v Blogg [1898] 1 QB 32. It involves impact between a ship and some other vessels or objects such as running into contact with a tug or boats or anchor of a ship (McCowan v Baine & Johnston (The Niobe) [1891] AC 401); a barge (Chandler v Blogg, supra); a wreck projecting above the sand (The Monroe [1893] P 248); a wreck (Pelton Steamship Co Ltd v North of England Protecting and Indemnity Assn (The Zelo) (1925) 22 Ll L Rep 510); a pontoon crane (Merchants’ Marine Insurance Co Ltd v North of England Protecting and Indemnity Assn (1926) Ll L Rep 201) but does not include a ‘flying boat’ (Polpen Shipping Co Ltd v Commercial Union Assurance Co Ltd [1943] KB 161).
