| 释义 | 不專業行為 An act or omission of a registered professional which would be reasonably regarded as disgraceful or dishonourable by a registered professional of good repute and competency: for example, Dentists Registration Ordinance (Cap 156) s 18(2). The issue of what constitutes ‘unprofessional conduct’ is to be determined in the context of a disciplinary inquiry, after having properly considered the evidence in the particular case: Norman Eric Tomlin v The Preliminary Investigation Committee of The Dental Council of Hong Kong [1996] 2 HKLR 133. If a professional practitioner, in the pursuit of his profession, has done something which may reasonably be regarded as disgraceful or dishonourable by his professional brethren of good repute and competency judged according to the rules, written or unwritten, governing the profession, then it is open to the professional standards committee, if such be proved, to say that he has been guilty of unprofessional conduct: Lam Kwok Pun v Dental Council of Hong Kong [2000] 4 HKC 181 (CA).
