释义 | 按期付款/ 及時付款 Payment made at or after the maturity of the bill to the holder thereof in good faith and without notice that his title to the bill is defective: Bills of Exchange Ordinance (Cap 19) s 59(1). Payment or discounting of a bill or note before maturity does not discharge it, and is no defence to an action on it by a holder in due course: Factory Investments (Pty) Ltd v Ismails 1960 (2) SA 10. Payment is in good faith if done honestly, even if negligently: s 96.
