释义 | 勳銜 1. An historical term synonymous with feodum. 2. A courtesy title given to judges and justices. 3. Acceptance of a bill of exchange for payment. Bills of exchange - The act of the drawee accepting a bill which has been presented to him or her for acceptance or the act of the drawee or the acceptor paying the amount due on a bill which has been presented by the holder of it for payment. Non-acceptance of a bill presented for acceptance is known as ‘dishonour by non-acceptance’: Bills of Exchange Ordinance (Cap 19) s 43. Not paying the amount due on a bill when it is duly presented for payment is known as ‘dishonour by non-payment’: s 47. A bill must be presented for acceptance or presented for payment in order to render the signatories to it liable on the bill: ss 45, 66. Court and judicial system - A title of courtesy given to judges and justices as in ‘His or Her Honour’, ‘Your Honour’ or ‘The Honourable Justice’.
